Bulk Mailing Preparation |
Prepare materials for bulk mailing. Collate, stuff and sort. Some projects are complex, others straight forward |

Driver for staff/consumers |
Provide transportation to appointments and meetings for staff and/or consumers unable to drive. |
As needed basis. May be once a week/ bi-weekly or monthly |

Special event volunteer |
Help with event set up/cleanup. Meet, greet, usher patrons. |
3-5 hours on day of event |

Special Event Planning |
Use your special creative talents and attention to detail to plan outstanding special events. Serve on a planning committee. |
3-5+ hours each month for 6-9 months prior to event |

Refurbish used computers for recycling |
Have a knack for working with computers? This may be right up your alley. Rebuild used computers, install basic software, make ready for use by consumers of IndependenceFirst |

Answer phones/ Receptionist duties |
Provide back-up support to receptionist greeting customers, answering phones and directing calls. |

Use your organizational skills to provide support to staff through copying, filing, data entry, typing and general office support. |

Help Consumers Move |
Flex your muscles and show you care by helping consumers move household items to new living quarters. Access to truck or van helpful. |

Sports Program assistant |
Wanted: helpful and friendly people to assist with adaptive sports program. Offer assistance and encourage individuals to participate as independently as possible. |

Down hill ski support |
Volunteer skiers are needed to assist people with disabilities with adaptive downhill skiing. The event will take place at Alpine Valley Ski Resort (weather-permitting). |
January - March, Thursdays, from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Five volunteers are needed each night. Minimum age 18. |

Provide homecoming meals for consumers |
Are you a gourmet cook ?– or not! Help ease the transition into the community by providing a hot meal on the individual’s first night in the Milwaukee Idea Home. |
As needed basis. Varies. May be once every 2-3 months |

Housecleaning |
Make a "clean sweep" of the Milwaukee Idea Home when consumers move out – to ready home for next consumer. |
